Church Clutter Clean Up Effort

If you’ve been in the storage behind the sanctuary you know it is full to overflowing.  This is a great metaphor for life.  Sometimes we’ve got too much going on, too much baggage, or we hang on to things that we should let go of.  We’ve got this going on in the storage behind the sanctuary.  It can really feel good to clear out clutter both physically and spiritually and sometimes doing this in one area of life can empower it happening in other areas.

So you are invited to help with the church clutter problem as a spiritual discipline. This can be especially appealing to those who have trouble sitting still and who aren’t so sure about meditating.  Working on a physical level and thinking about the spiritual parallel while at the same time actually getting rid of the clutter, is in fact a great way to prepare for Easter.  Judy DiGiorgio is coordinating this effort, so if you’re interested please contact her.

Give the gift of health!

The REST program is in need of personal hygiene items (hotel soaps, lotions, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, disposable razors, shave cream, etc.). Please put them in the basket under the REST sign up board in the back of the Sanctuary.

Rotating Emergency Shelter Team (REST) Update
CPC is participating in the REST program, providing dinner every third Monday evening, through April 15, 2012, for up to 20 homeless women.  Our partner churches, Community Congregational Church, Tiburon and First Congregational Church, San Rafael will provide dinner on the other Monday nights.

You have a chance to volunteer, too!   CPC will be responsible for providing dinner and fellowship on the following dates:

Mar   5
